This is a short, simple guide to collecting dill and coriander seeds from your home garden. The seeds need to be harvested during dry weather.

The first stage of coriander seeds are light green balls, which develop into a cream/tan colour and then brown. Once the seeds are brown, with small indentations, the seed head can be snipped off and stored in a bag.

Dill plants develop green balls which then turn to darker with a stripe on the seed. Once at this stage, the seed heads can be cut off and stored in paper bags in a dark dry place.

Once the seeds have dried, the chaff can be removed.
