Question by Rebel: Can I eat Honeydew melon seeds? What about the rind?
I’ve always heard that the seeds and peels/rinds of fruits and veggies were packed with nutrition, so I’d rather not waste it. Can I eat them, is it safe?
Answer by SmartAleck
apple/orange peels, strawberry/raspberry seeds, these are what is probably meant by “seeds & peels” being full of nutrition. grapeseeds have been shown to have lots of antioxidant properties.
however, while i don’t think that there is any reason you would not be able to consume these items, i would not recomend it. like cucumber seeds, melon seeds would be extremely difficult to digest, and possibly cause the same kind of gassiness that cucumber seeds do. the rind itself would probably be inedible, as human teeth are not really designed to grind these up enough for digestive purposes.
