Once the dill has finished flowering, flowers turn brown once dry. At this point they can be harvested. The seeds are collected on a dry day so that wet seeds don’t go mouldy once collected. The seed heads are cut off the plant, and then placed into a paper bag. If the plants are damp, then they are left to dry and the seeds can then be easily removed. The seeds are small black specks. To remove the seeds, roll the plant between your fingers and let the seeds fall to a box for collection. Let seeds sit inside to dry for a few days before storing to ensure mould doesn’t develop. Seeds can be stored in zip log bags.
