This video describes the best methods for preparing soil for growing vegetables. Small beds are used to grow vegetables to get a good use from the available space. Soil must be prepared – removing large stones, roots and breaking up the soil. Compost can then be used to improve the quality of the soil. Here 150l of compost is used for each 8×4′ bed. Compost adds nutrition and helps to keep water to reduce the amount of watering necessary. Water shouldn’t be walked on, to keep it’s loose structure.
